BlackBerry Curve sales soar in KSA

RIM, the manufacture of BlackBerry phones has continued to witness year-on-year growth of its smartphones in Saudi Arabia, according to recent point-of-sale data by market research agency GfK Retail and Technology.
Over the past year from May 2010 to May 2011, more BlackBerryCurve 8520 smartphones have been sold in the KSA than any other smartphone. The data shows a year-on-year sales growth of 112%.
Highlights from the data include: The BlackBerry Curve 8520 was ranked KSA's number one selling smartphone from July 2010 until May 2011, or 11 consecutive months.
BlackBerry was one of only two smartphones to make the top 10 smartphones list in sales, in turn taking the best selling product slot. From April 2010 to April 2011, RIM witnessed a year-on-year growth of 167% From May 2010 to May 2011, RIM witnessed a year-on-year growth of 112%
