Bahrain’s Batelco has launched two “bolt on” packages for its postpaid mobile broadband subecribers which offer “unlimited” data subject to a fair usage policy.
For a fee of BD8 ($21), mobile broadband users can use up to 1Gb of data a month, while for BD11, users get 4Gb a month. Both packages give download speeds of up to 21Mbps up to the data limits. Once the data limit is reached, the subscriber will still be able to use mobile broadband at no additional cost, but speeds will be reduced.
"Batelco has introduced these new Fair Usage data packages to suit the ever changing needs of its customers,” said Ahmed Al Janahi, general manager, media relations.
“With so many people utilising mobile broadband these days, we are constantly revising our offerings to ensure we keep pace with our customers' requirements. Many customers have asked for high speeds with unlimited usage for a fixed price and we believe these new deals fit the bill.”
