STC has selected Motive's fibre networking testing solution to help monitor performance on its fibre optic network. The telco will roll out Motive's Network Analyzer - Fiber system, to provide it with testing and monitoring services.
The NA-F solution helps to improve customer service, by quicker detection of network degradation, and better, cheaper, monitoring of performance levels, according to Motive, an Alcatel-Lucent company.
The system is compatible with multiple vendors and will help ensure fibre lines meet quality and stability requirements, and reduce support costs, by detecting customer problems before they are escalated to network operations support.
The system also gives operators a proper ability to assess the services they can deliver to customers, by measuring how much throughput is available on existing networks, and how much more bandwidth they can offer to qualifying customers, so that the operator is able to up-sell value-added services.
