Bharti Airtel has appointment Salia Gbane as the managing director for its operation in Chad.

Gbane, who replaces Mbaye Sylla Khouma as MD, was previously the commercial director at Airtel Gabon.

Bharti Airtel said in a statement that Salia brings a “wealth of experience” from the telecommunication, banking, oil and the fast moving consumer goods sectors with companies including Celtel, Shell, Nestle and Standard Chartered Bank.

Former MD Mbaye Sylla Khouma will be relocating to Nairobi to join the Group Airtel’s Francophone team after two and a half years in Chad.

Speaking about the appointments, Manoj Kohli, CEO, international, Bharti Airtel, said: “Today’s appointments are an indication of our commitment to accelerate the transformation of our business in order to provide exceptional services to Chad and our Francophone markets”.
