UAE telco Etisalat is demonstrating its Mobile Baby service in collaboration with Great Connection Inc at this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, senior vice president, business solutions at Etisalat, said: “As mobile technology continues to penetrate deeper, services and applications such Mobile Baby are bound to proliferate, given the ubiquity of mobile phones and ease of technology deployment.

“Etisalat is also forging key relationships with companies in the medical device, pharmaceutical and health service industries to introduce innovative and relevant mobile healthcare solutions in the UAE,” he added.

Mobile Baby will enable medical practitioners to send ultrasound images, video clips and 3D scans to referring physicians for remote medical diagnostics. The application works directly from ultrasound machines, with images delivered to any mobile phone via SMS, MMS and email.

Besides being used for additional medical advice, the service will also enable expecting parents to share their pregnancy scan experience and ultrasound images of their baby with family and friends around the world, at the click of a button.
