Kuwaiti mobile operator Viva has launched data roaming bundles for GCC countries.

Prices for the service, which is called "GCC Roaming Surf-On", range from 1 KD ($3.62) with 5 Mb for a day, 5 KD with 25 Mb for a week, and 10 KD with 50 Mb for a month, with more options available to suit customer’s needs, the company said.

The package is designed for postpaid customers who use a smartphone to surf the internet while they travel across GCC. “At this affordable daily flat rate, you can use BlackBerry Messenger, access emails, browse MMS and surf WAP and Web within GCC,” the company said in a statement.

Customers interested in subscribing to the service can send the code "ON GCC (followed by the rate chosen)" via SMS Text Message to the number '256'.

Viva Kuwait, which is owned by Saudi Arabia’s STC Group, was launched in December 2008 and competed with Zain and Wataniya.
