Huawei has announced that its ‘Honor' and ‘Vision' handset models will be available to consumers in the Middle East from this month.

The company is looking to expand its handset business in the region, and is targeting the handsets, its most featured handsets to date, at users that want functionality with a lower price tag.

The Honor handset has been launched exclusively with STC in Saudi Arabia, and both models can be found at selected retailers in Jordan and Oman.

In the UAE, the phones will be on sale later this month, with retailers including Lulu Hypermarkets, KM Trading, and Costless Electronics.

UAE pricing will be approximately AED 1,500 ($408) for the Honor and AED 1,400 ($381) for the Vision.

The company is already selling its IDEOS and X5 handsets in markets such as Qatar.

"The Huawei Honor and Huawei Vision encapsulate our brand by striking the perfect balance between advanced technology and award-winning design," said David Tian, Huawei Device Director of Sales for UAE. "By extending features that elevate every aspect of the user experience, anyone can now easily connect, communicate and share content without compromising on originality or performance."

The Huawei Honor smartphones runs the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS upgradeable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and has a 4 inch high-definition (HD) capacitive touch screen. The handset is able to operate for up to three days on a single charge. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor, and also includes an 8 megapixel HDR-enabled camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is available in Glossy Black, Textured Black, Elegant White, Vibrant Yellow, Cherry Blossom Pink and Burgundy.

The Huawei Vision, which won a iF Design Award includes visual innovations such as a 3D-user interface and carousel animation display all running on Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS and supported by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Measuring only 9.9mm at its thinnest point and at around 121g, the Vision still supports 720P video recording and features a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. Add on Bluetooth V2.1 with A2DP and high-speed WiFi internet connectivity, the Vision makes staying connected with friends and family even easier.
