Nawras has announced Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Faleh Al-Thani as its new vice-chairman.

Al-Thani has replaced Khalid Ibrahim Al Mahmoud who recently took up the role of group chief officer, small and medium businesses unit at Qtel Group.

Nawras has also appointed Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari as a temporary board member until the company's next AGM.

Sayyid Amjad bin Mohamed Al-Busaidi, chairman of Nawras, said: "On behalf of the Nawras family, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to both Sheikh Saud Al-Thani and Mr. Mohamed Al Kuwari. They both bring demonstrated records of success and their wealth of experience will add further strength to our business. He added, "Khalid has been a huge influence on the exciting launch of our company and its successful performance over the last seven years, both in his role as chief operating officer and more recently as vice chairman of the board. His contribution has been immense and the Nawras family is grateful for his guidance, wisdom and enthusiasm. We wish him every success in his new role within the Qtel Group."

Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani joined Qtel in Qatar, in 1990. In addition to his new role, he also serves as CEO of Qtel. Al-Thani has served on Nawras' board of directors since 2008.

Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari is currently the chief corporate services Officer at Qtel. He has been with Qtel since 2005 handling many strategic roles ensuring continued growth through improved support infrastructure, corporate quality and policy in addition to effective HR practices.
