Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 quality management certification for its data centre management.
The telco is the first organisation to qualify for the standard for data centres in Saudi Arabia, and only the third in the Middle East to qualify.
Dr Khalid AL Bayari STC senior VP for Technology and Operations said: "This accomplishment is a continuation of STC concern for raising the level of all services and management and organisational processes by adherence to the world metrics and standards that rest on meeting and delivering services that feature quick response to customer needs in a way that satisfies them. Furthermore, the world quality recognition of STC reflects its commitment to adopting the best quality standards at all operational levels wherever it was present.
"Winning this certification from SAI Global- a non-profit organisation - is an international standard that reflects the commitment of STC towards valuation of quality management and the services provided to customers in accordance with up-to-date E-Systems in a way that realises the goals of the company of enhancing its various technical works as well as commitment to the world standards in information technology," he added.
