The Syrian Electronic Army hacked several Microsoft Twitter accounts over the weekend, including Microsoft News, TechNet, Xbox and Xbox Support, CNET reported.

The pro-government group posted messages on the Xbox accounts that said, "Syrian Electronic Army Was Here" and "Game On!" It also posted images of Xbox's Twitter and Instagram accounts that appeared to confirm admin access to both.

The SEA also left a message on the News Twitter account that read: "Don't use Microsoft emails (hotmail, outlook). They are monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the governments" and "Syrian Electronic Army Was Here."

A Microsoft spokesperson told CNET on Saturday that "Microsoft is aware of targeted cyberattacks that temporarily affected the Xbox Support and Microsoft News Twitter accounts. The accounts were quickly reset and we can confirm that no customer information was compromised."
