Saudi Arabian operator, Mobily, has selected NSN to upgrade its network in the central region of the country, including Riyadh.

NSN will upgrade Mobily’s 2G, 3G (WCDMA) and TD-LTE networks with its Single RAN technology, based on its Flexi Multiradio 10 base station.

NSN will also provide its network management software, NetAct and Performance Manager, to monitor, manage, and operate Mobily’s 2G, 3G and LTE networks. The vendor will also provide services including network planning, optimisation, system integration, implementation and care services, allowing for the smooth upgrade and expansion of the operator’s networks. NSN will also re-farm Mobily’s GSM 900 MHz band to 3G.

Alaa Al Malki, acting CTO of Mobily’s radio network, said: “Based on our experience with NSN since 2006, we are confident that the company’s advanced radio platform and comprehensive services will help us provide a superior voice and data service experience for our customers.”
