UAE operator du is extending the length of its mobile data sale, the Data Festival, until October 19, the company has announced.

The sale, aimed at pre-paid customers, provides du users with up to five times as much data at no extra cost, du said. To take advantage of the offers, the operator said that customers need only SMS a code to 1355.

"Our data plans for prepaid mobile customers are beyond doubt the most versatile and comprehensive in the UAE today, we have a plan that's sure to meet the needs of any and every usage type of customers," said Fahad Al Hassawi, CCO at du.

"With the extension of our popular and value-packed Data Festival offer, it's now so much easier for our customers to stay in touch with those who they care about."

The mobile data sale essentially gives customers more data for what they're paying. For example, customers on the 40 MB data pack will, during the Data Festival, get 200 MB for the same price of AED 20.

Meanwhile, 100 MB customers will get three times the data during the sale, at the usual rate of AED 50. Subscribers to the 1 GB package will get 2 GB for AED 100, while 4 GB subscribers will get 8 GB for AED 200.

Customers can subscribe to the 40MB upgrade by texting ‘data 40MB r' to 1355, and for the 100MB upgrade, the SMS should read ‘data 100MB r'. For customers upgrading with the 1 GB package, customers need to SMS ‘data 1GB r' to 1355, and for 4GB data customers, the message should read ‘data 4GB r'.
