Etisalat UAE has announced an agreement to peer with Mobile Tele Systems (MTS).

The operator will provide access to MTS for regional roaming in the Middle East and Africa, while MTS will extend Etisalat’s reach across their Eurasian footprint.

“The launch of our Smart Roaming Hub ushers in a new era of seamless inter-operator roaming capabilities. We are delighted to be working with MTS, a long term partner, to extend the reach of both companies. Smart Roaming Hub provides an innovative platform to provide flexible roaming services for our customers.

The Smart Roaming Hub also provides a more efficient platform for launching new services on a global basis,” said Ali Amiri executive vice president Etisalat Carrier and Wholesale Services.

"MTS is embracing new technologies to expand footprint and improve quality of roaming services. This agreement will enable subscribers to enjoy high quality voice and data services in roaming on the “next-generation” networks, while MTS will be able to launch new products based on Etisalat’s Smart Roaming Hub platform,” commented Vyacheslav Nikolayev, MTS B2C Marketing director.
