UAE telco Du has confirmed that a total of 50 exclusive packages in four different categories will be up for grabs during this year’s Special Numbers Auction, which is being organised in collaboration with Online Auctions.
These categories include Auction Gold, Auction Diamond, Auction Platinum and Auction Platinum Plus. The event takes place on February 6, 2016 at the InterContinental, Dubai Festival City at 4pm and the winners of these categories will receive various benefits including flexible minutes, roaming minutes, data, monthly bill discounts and free smartphones, depending on the category.
In addition, du has announced the mobile numbers 052 111 1111 and 052 600 0000 as the most exclusive numbers in the 2016 edition of the du’s Exclusive Packages for the Special Numbers Auction.
“Our special numbers auctions have opened the doors to pioneer new avenues for giving back,” said Ahmed Aburahima, executive VP, government relations, Du. “Companies are increasingly looking beyond traditional CSR platforms to make a real difference to society. Our Special Packages for Special Numbers auction constitutes an innovative platform that enriches the concept of charity in the life of everyone in our social system, whether they are supporters or beneficiaries.”
Ahmad Ahli, Online Auctions, said: “With a new year upon us, we’re pleased to renew our partnership with Du to organise the 2016 special numbers auction. This event aims to support community initiatives, and serves as a premier platform that allows individuals to effectively contribute to the benefit of the Emirati community. We, in turn, are keen on following the best standards and practices to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction, and look forward towards another prosperous collaboration with du.”
As an added value, the highest bidders will be issued a certificate of ownership for their numbers. This will ensure the exclusive ownership of numbers in compliance with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority regulations.
Following the successful tradition of the 2015 auction event, wherein, Du allocated a portion of the proceeds to charity, this year as well proceeds from the event will be used to support various initiatives of the Al Jalila Foundation.
