Vivo has released its next flagship line-up, the Xplay 5 and Xplay 5 Elite

Vivo, a China-based company, has announced the launch of its Xplay 5, the world's first smartphone with 6GB of RAM.

Vivo is not new to the smartphone industry, it already has released devices, such as, Xshot, Xplay3S and X5Pro. Despite not being well-recognised compared to other manufacturers, the company has previously unveiled world first devices, including Xplay 3S which featured the first ever Quad HD resolution display.

The 5.43-inch Xplay 5 is mosdtly made out of an aluminium magnesium alloy and features the Quad HD display which is of an AMOLED display, plus the edges are curved which is likened to Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S7.

Embedded inside the smartphone is Qualcomm's quad-core snapdragon 820, coupled with extremely fast UFS 2.0 storage. Vivo has also claimed it is using a custom liquid cooling system to ensure the chipset is cool and claims it will prevent the device form overheating.

The device also features a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera with a dual-tine LED flash, phase detection auto focus and electronic image stabilisation. Furthermore, Vivo has installed biometric authentication with its rear-facing fingerprint scanner and a fast-charging 3,600mAh battery.

Vivo's Xplay 5 Elite has also been launched, the model is more powerful and is entirely made of metal and uses Gorilla Glass 4 to cover the dual-curved 5.43-inch super AMOlED Quad HD screen.

Both devices will be released in China on March 8.
