His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, met Rajeev Suri, CEO of Nokia, and his accompanying delegation in the Executive Council of Dubai on 14 March 2016.

HH Sheikh Maktoum welcomed Nokia’s CEO and his delegation, and referred to Nokia’s support for Dubai’s vision to create the ideal working environment through the creation of an infrastructure of the highest standards that would support all organizations and companies in the Emirate.

During the meeting, HH Sheikh Maktoum and Rajeev Suri discussed a number of topics including Dubai Plan 2021, Dubai’s sustainability strategy and Emirate’s transformation into a smart city. The conversation turned to Dubai’s strategy for innovation as well as Nokia’s vision for the future, including its expansion plans for the region and Dubai with a particular focus on the Emirate’s smart infrastructure, tourism and economy.

Rajeev Suri expressed his admiration for Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, and the country’s remarkable development, as well as the opportunities that the country offers to both businesses and investors across a range of industries. He added that the company’s regional offices in Dubai would continue to support Dubai’s growth.

The meeting was attended by HE Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Shaibani, Secretary General of the executive council of the Emirate of Dubai, and HE Ahmed bin Byat, CEO of Dubai holding, and Malek Al Malek, the CEO of TECOM business parks.
