Oman's telecom market gears for novelty

Market to welcome a new MNO and a new satellite operator

Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Communications is considering a new communication satellite and a third mobile operator, as reported by Times of Oman.

HE Dr Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Salim Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, said that a series of studies and a number of specialised committees have been developed to launch the communications satellite for Oman to meet the growing requirements of the telecoms sector.

However that the details of the implementation and funding of this very significant space program will be revealed only after completion of the studies.
