As all of us continue to revel in the magic of the technological wonders showcased at the GITEX Technology Week 2016, we, at CommsMEA, bring to you the most awaited awards gala in the region for the communications technology industry. Come November 9 and the top performers over the past year will be recognised at the eleventh edition of CommsMEA Awards in front of an elite audience comprising the industry leaders.

The motive behind the whole concept is not just to shine the spotlight on the ones who have completed the biggest projects, rather the idea is to award the best and inspire the rest. As the whole MEA region braces itself for a complete digital transformation towards hyper-connected societies and smarter cities, there’s a need for the industry to come together, share best practices, collaborate, consolidate and progress, stretching the limits of possibilities. CommsMEA provides you the singular platform where the key stakeholders of the ecosystem come together, and make the right connections for plans to be conceptualised and executed in due course of time.

CommsMEA being the voice of the communications industry in the region, the CommsMEA Awards event strives to keep pace with the dynamism of the industry. This year, we have introduced new categories to give credits where they are due. While the top categories like best operators of the region and best campaigns remain unchanged, one of the best additions this year is the award for connecting the unconnected. And there is also an award for the best satellite service provider. We understand that connectivity is not just about providing 5G to people who have 4G, rather it’s about ensuring all the people across the region are connected. Smart societies can’t be attained till the technologies are not all pervasive into the whole geography.

Needless to say, telcos are transforming rapidly from being connectivity providers to being digital service providers capable of providing all that the digitally exclusive generation demands, be it in terms of customer experience, or media and content services. If there’s one trend that hasn’t changed over ages, that’s the criticality of great customer experience. Customer is king and in full reverence of that fact, CommsMEA Awards will be giving away the award for the best customer service provider in the region.

The future belongs to video; and staying at the forefront, we have introduced an award for the best IPTV service. The target is to push the IPTV service providers to innovate beyond what they are already doing and provide an experience to the viewers that’s unmatched in terms of ease, variety, quality and novelty.

Another thing which tops the priority list of ICT players worldwide is the Internet of Things. As the level of connectivity constantly keeps soaring higher, the need to have efficient M2M connections is extremely crucial. In addition to being the foundation of a smart city, M2M solutions also contribute to creating new opportunities to tap the power of IoT to create new opportunities, redefine possibilities, and reimagine realities. The CommsMEA Awards 2016 stage would be the proud witness as the best M2M solution provider of the region would be honoured.

The world is getting connected, and demands seamless and effective connections on all levels from the stakeholders. If the dream is that of an invincible future, the present needs to be built on a foundation of successful collaborations, knowledge sharing and consolidation. As witnessed recently at GITEX Technology Week 2016, the MEA region has come a long way in terms of technological advancement and exciting new frontiers are round the corner. Being the prime foundation of the connected world, the onus is on the communications industry professionals to come together to create a future where the region would be at the forefront of digital innovation in the entire world; let the march begin for mission invincible. See you at the CommMEA Awards 2016!
