As early as next year, Nokia will be returning to the smartphone market with handsets running on Google's operating system.

After Microsoft handed over the rights to FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Foxconn and Finnish company HMD Global to use the Nokia brand, the company will now bring a range of feature phones and smartphones in 2017.

Despite no concrete details from HMD Global, it has revealed the devices will focus on innovation and quality, as well as sticking to "the iconic Nokia mobile phone attributes of design, robustness and reliability."

According to an interview Nokia veteran Arto Numella told Reuters that HMD has partnered with Google, however the details are unclear.
