Huawei has signed a deal to develop 5G with Russian telecoms firm MTS.

The deal was formally signed at a meeting between Chinese president Xi Jinping and Russian president Vladimir Putin in Russia, with the two leaders looking on.

The deal comes as Huawei is facing increased scrutiny in Western nations, particularly the United States.
