Reports suggest Huawei may rename its Android-alternative operating system.

Huawei has filed for a patent in Europe for an OS named "Harmony."

Speculation is rife Harmony, for mobile and possibly desktop, could replace the Hongmeng name.

Meanwhile, reports also indicate Huawei may be planning to let go of a significant portion of its US workforce, as suspicion of Huawei and alleged ties to the Chinese government and military continues in many Western nations.

Huawei has denied the allegations.
