As part of its upcoming participation at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) summit in Bahrain, leading cybersecurity solutions provider Trend Micro hosted a presentation on 'The Art of Cybersecurity in the Cloud'. The session explored the best security practices for businesses transitioning to the cloud.

With the launch of the first AWS region in the Middle East in July 2019, the data center brings new opportunities for organizations in the region to take advantage of cloud technology. According to Bilal Baig, the technical director of Trend Micro for the GCC, “The recent launch of AWS’ new data center cluster in Bahrain has generated a lot of excitement within the burgeoning cloud market to drive new digital business models in Bahrain and the Middle East.”

Bahrain continues to see an increasing number and variety of cyber-threats against individuals and organizations. With their movement to the public cloud, the cyber-threat landscape could also expand. As a result, regional organizations are investing in their cloud cybersecurity. According to a recent report by Gartner, the Middle East and North Africa cloud-based cybersecurity spend has growing 108 per cent year-over-year to USD9 billion in 2019.

The summit gathered hundreds of enterprises and government entities on the latest advances in data center technologies. Trend Micro was also available for media interviews at the AWS Summit in Bahrain at The Gulf Hotel.
