Dubai hosts launch of new Nokia 8.1 smartphone

HMD Global, the caretakers of the Nokia brand, have unveiled its latest product launch in Dubai.

Nokia revealed its next phone for what it calls the "affordable premium" market - the Nokia 8.1, which costs 399 euros .

The Nokia 8.1 is the followup to the Nokia 7.1 and includes a number of updated components.

Specs include a 6.18-inch display, 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 20-megapixel front camera and is available in three colours - Iron/Steel, Blue/Silver and Steel/Copper

A day before the nnouncement, a 30-second video spot that showed the phone highlighted its photography capabilities and was published to YouTube.

The Nokia 8.1 will be available later this month in Middle East markets. Pre-orders have already begun.
